What we set

• Session. Keeps a signed-in visit together if you open a share that requires a passcode. Expires when you close the browser or after 14 days, whichever is sooner.
• Preference. Remembers that you dismissed the cookie line, so we do not ask every load. Lasts 12 months.

Both are strictly necessary. UK PECR does not require a pre-tick box for them. The Windows application is not a website and does not use cookies; it stores licence state in the user profile on the machine.

Logs, not cookies

Our host keeps a standard access log (IP address, time, path, user agent) for 30 days so we can find faults and abuse. That is not a cookie.

Changing your mind

You can clear cookies in the browser. The site will still work; you may see the notice again and you may need to re-enter a share passcode.
